I didn't know there was one. If so, I turned the site over to Angus, and he might have consciously set it, for all I know.
When the place was involuntarily changed over to YUKU, a lot of my settings were changed. That might be one of them. Charlie |

If anything, I think there are too many bloody rooms! I'm flat out reading everything with the limited time I have.
Not that it's anyone's fault. I just thought I'd have a whinge. Thanks, all vented now. |

Speaking of limited time, is there any way I can have more hours in the day? (I know, not your department. Still doesn't hurt to ask, right?) |

With modern society as it is, getting more hours in the day wouldn't do us any more good than all the liesure time we were supposed to gain with all the
time saving gadgetry that we've had access to over the last century.

Don't knock time saving gadgets, Kate. Think about simply fixing a meal a hundred years ago, or taking a horse and buggy to work ... Ugh.
The trouble is that we find other things to do with our free time, instead of using it to relax. Just because we are able to to fifty miles to buy groceries doesn't mean we should. Charlie |

go 50 miles is what he meant to say....correct why should we have to and why not grow as much as we can ourselves?

He's right. How many of you guys actually take the time to feed your Rats?
Hey, guys! We gotta eat too, and we DO know how to relax. Throw us a pizza and an occasional beer. Oscar Rat |

A vet I happened to meet once told me too much relaxing, pizzas and beer are not good for rats. So, humans do good if their occasional pizzas and beer make
rare.

Hmmmm... well, since my sister and brother-in-law travel 125 miles to the nearest grocery store, and do, incidentally, raise their own garden and canning...
Hey Oscar! We might be related some howz... they're what we call Desert Rats... they live out in Utah, off grid, in a hogan they built themselves... and raise Navajo Churro sheep. Wild looking things, those sheep. They look something like a rabid fundamentalist's nightmare. Long, dreadlock like wool in crazy colors with double sets of horns and yellow eyes... Funny thing about that hogan. They messed it up when they built it. See, they forgot to design in the bathroom, and didn't figure that out until they almost had the thing built. (Note: b-i-l was an engineer until he burned out a couple decades ago...) So, they added a lean-to out the back and tacked the bathroom on as an after thought. Now the Navajos make fun of it. See... according to the Navajos (and a couple other tribes, as I understand it), evil spirits lurk in 90° corners. The first time I heard that, I was in the awkward position of being the last hand drafter in an electric supply company. I had been talking to a Ojibwe friend of mine when my sister's e-mail came in, telling me about it. My in basket was in the corner of my cubicle. He started chuckling as I was taking a hairy eyeball stare at my inbasket, which turned almost hysterical with wiggles and giggles and both arms wrapped around the belly with tears streaming down his cheeks when I said "It's true." |

Many people don't realize that most rats live in colonies far from humans. We have modern cities with electricity and running water. Many of them live in
Utah.
Only the dregs of rat society live in human sewers. Those are the drug addicts and alcoholics that are too far gone or lazy to work. Oscar Rat |

Oh dear me. Oscar, I would think after our initial chat, that you were more tolerant of those less fortunate.
Apparently I misjudged you. Have you never heard of a rat down on his luck? Depressed? For shame, Oscar. I may keep my cheese sandwiches for myself now. |

Sorry, Bard, but they give ratkind a bad name and reputation. Most of the "good" rat families stay far from you humans.
